Paradox x Oktoberfest
Townsville Brewing Co. had the beer. The brats. The Bavarian chaos. What they needed was a marketing campaign that could turn Oktoberfest from a great local event into a sell-out experience.
Enter Paradox.
We were brought in to build momentum, drive ticket sales, grow the audience and make Oktoberfest feel like the event people absolutely did not want to miss.
No polite little “come along if you’re free” energy here.
This was Oktoberfest. It needed noise, urgency, personality and a very clear path from “that looks fun” to “where are my tickets?”
Oktoberfest already had strong event potential, but the opportunity was bigger than awareness.
The goal was to drive ticket sales, attract new attendees, grow the customer database, support repeat visitation and create a campaign that could scale beyond a one-off promotion.
We needed to make the event feel established, exciting and easy to act on, while giving audiences every possible reason to grab tickets before they disappeared.
Because nothing says “marketing pressure cooker” quite like a beer festival with a ticking clock and a sell-out target.
We built a campaign designed to move fast, look bold and convert quickly.
The creative leaned into classic Oktoberfest cues with a local edge: beer, pretzels, entertainment, countdowns, ticket urgency and big-event energy. Across social, paid media, database communication and tracking links, every touchpoint had a job to do.
Organic content built atmosphere. Paid media drove reach and link clicks. EDMs gave the database a final nudge. Tracking links helped show what channels were actually pulling their weight, because vibes are great, but data is better. Annoying, but true.
The campaign was not just about shouting louder. It was about giving people clear reasons to act.
Buy the ticket. Join the event. Bring your mates. Do not be the sad schnitzel who misses out.
The campaign delivered the goods.
Oktoberfest sold more than 5,000 tickets, generated more than $60,000 in revenue and attracted over 1,000 first-time attendees.
Organic activity delivered more than 12,000 views, 7,000 reach, 1,000 reactions, over 250 hours of watch time and more than 250 new followers.
Paid media also came to the party, reaching 58,799 people, generating 186,156 impressions and driving 2,840 link clicks. The campaign achieved a 3.2% click-through rate, a 4.8% conversion rate and a 34.7% cost efficiency rating — the kind of numbers that deserve a stein clink.
Database communication added another layer of momentum, with two unplanned EDMs achieving 34–38% open rates and helping grow the database from 3,160 to 4,193 contacts.
Year-on-year, the campaign drove stronger digital interest, with page views increasing from 8,745 in 2024 to 11,421 in 2025.
In short: people saw it, clicked it, bought it, showed up, and brought the energy.
The early performance story was strong.
The real win was building a campaign ecosystem that connected attention to ticket sales.
Rather than relying on one channel to do all the heavy lifting, Paradox created a joined-up approach across creative, paid media, organic social, email and ticket tracking. Every channel had a purpose. Every message pointed toward action.
The campaign gave Townsville Brewing Co. stronger visibility, stronger ticketing momentum and a larger audience pool for future events.
And because Oktoberfest proved the appetite was there — pun absolutely intended — Paradox has been enlisted again in 2026 to take the brand and event experience even further.
The next phase includes a new logo creation and timeless brand identity, designed to give Oktoberfest a stronger, more ownable visual presence year after year.
Because when an event has this much potential, it should not feel like a fresh scramble every season. It needs a brand that can grow, travel, repeat, and still look good on a stein, poster, ticket page, merch drop or social campaign. No awkward seasonal identity crisis, thank you.
For 2026, the focus expands from campaign success to full event brand building.
Paradox is helping shape Oktoberfest into a more recognisable, repeatable and polished experience, with stronger branding, clearer event architecture and an even smoother ticketing journey through Paradox Tickets powered by Flickit.
